When does Intel land Core i9 in the market?
Intel core i9-7900X processors are the first ever 10 to 18 cores CPU unit. The base model of i9 will be available in international market from the next month. Intel the biggest micro chip maker gives core i9 family a code name Skylake. The extreme end of the family of core i9-7980XE will be available later. There is no news of launching core i9 in India recently.
What is the Intel core i9 processor specification?
Intel Core i9 microprocessors are having very high end processing power which is useful for multitasking in the 4K resolution. The gaming geeks are very enthusiastic about it, and willing to spend money to get one of these as soon as they hit the market. The Intel Core i9-7900X family offers high overclocking rate of 3GHz to 4.5GHz and even 5.7GHz after boost. Company’s first ever 18cores and 36 threads to fulfill high end gaming demands also aid in running 3840 pixels x 2160 pixels video streaming with live chatting. Also available the all new X299 chipset motherboard with LGA 2066 socket to run efficiently.
Does Intel Core i9 desktop CPU will have any competition?
AMD has recently announced Ryzen Threadripper at Computex 2017. With the computing performance of 16 cores and 32 threads and expected to be cheaper than i9. Both of these high end processors are available for desktops only it will take some time for the laptops. The core i9 family available as i9-7900X,7920X,7940X,7960X,7980XE with 10,12,14,16 and 18 cores respectively. The Ryzen Threadripper will be available soon by June this year but the Ryzen 9 of 16 cores will come after a year. I9 is supporting by the new X299 chipset whereas Ryzen has X399.
What is Intel core i9 processor release date?
As the launch at Computex 2017, Intel is planning to start sale within few weeks. But only restricting to i9-7900x and the higher product i9-7920 will be available in August. But the extreme i9-7980XE will come in the market after a while and the release dates are unofficial.
What would be the expected Intel core i9 processor price?
The core i9 series has different variant and the prices are starts at $999 for base model and $1999 for the extreme. There are assumptions that the Intel core i9 CPU price in India is around 70,000 to 1,50,000 rupees for the top variant. The price of Ryzen 9 Threadripper 16 cores has not announced yet but it is going to be cheaper than its companion.
What are Intel core i9 features?
The TDP or the Thermal design power of core i9 is 140watt in comparison of core i7 which as 91watt. The memory support for all i9 is DDR4- 2666 with the fast memory of cache 13.75 MB. There is a new liquid cooling system available named as TS13X to control 140watt chip that will cost you around $100. Intel proclaimed i9 family will be 15 percent faster than its former CPU family. The chipset is new X299 also a new LGA 2066 socket, with the DMI 3.0. The input and output support is up to 24 PCIe 3.0 lanes and has eight SATA 3.0 ports and 10 3.0 USB ports. The Skylake versions are unlocked and hence the base clock is separate from the PCIe bus. This helps to adjust the core clock frequency without affecting the overall performance. But the overclocking changes the voltage to gain the right performance.
What is Core-X series?
The Kabylake-X and Skylake-X of Core-X family.
The core series of Kaby lake-X, has two new SKUs, the first is Core i7-7740 and other is i5-7640X. Core i7-7740X is quad core cpu with 4.3GHz and L3 cache, it supports 16 PCIe 3.0 lanes. The core i5 has lower clocking of 4.0GHz with a boost can reach 4.2GHz, it has same cache L3. Bothe core i7 and core i5 support dual channel DDR4 memory of 2666MHz. The Thermal design power is 112 watts and they do not support Turbo Boost Max 3.0 technology.
The Skylake-X supports Turbo Boost Max 3.0 technology along with the highest 18 core computing. It has more PCIe lanes and also supports the Quad channel DDR4 memory. The Skylake-X CPU are available with the starting core i7-7800X, with clocking at 3.5GHz. With the Turbo Boost it can set to 4GHz and 6 cores threading. The other i7-7820X gives computing power of 8 cores with 11 MB L3 cache and 28 PCIe lanes.
Intel’s extreme editions Skylake-X is core i9 series, with the base model of i9-7900X. This cpu has 10 to 18 cores of computing power with Hyperthreading 13.75M L3 cache and big 44 PCIe lanes. The details of next i9-7920X of 12 cores to i9-7980XE of 18 cores and 36 threads will be launch later in the coming month. The performance of Core-X series will put the benchmark in the market for its segment.
